Expert Advice on Decorating Your Christmas Tree

Posted on December 13th, 2017 by Hannah.

decorating your christmas tree

It feels like yesterday when we took our Thanksgiving turkey out of the oven, and now Christmas is right around the corner. If you’ve already put your tree up, bravo! There are some stragglers out there who still need to put the tree up…or might need to get one. If this is you, we get it and we’re here to make your life easier. We’re sharing our expert advice on how you can decorate your Christmas tree like a professional.

After you have your tree, start adding your lights (if you don’t have a pre-lit tree) and fluffing the branches. You want to do this step before the ornaments because the ornaments can get in the way. Then comes time to hang your string of popcorn, garland or ribbon. After you’re done with your ribbon or garland, it’s time for the ornaments! Choosing an overall color scheme or theme (i.e. Santa’s, ¬snowflakes, wooden ornaments, etc.) will also help you achieve a cohesive tree. For the empty gaps you might see in your tree, long ornaments can make your tree look fuller. Lastly, carefully add your tree topper!

One of the best things you can do while decorating is to step back between hanging a few ornaments to evaluate your tree from afar and see where you need to add or take away. This makes sure that your tree looks well balanced.
